While most of what at the fair is pretty normal there are some odd "games" and this is certainly near the top.

The new Conquest of the Empire game by Eagle Games. It's very nice looking and the board is really 3 boards put together. The game is seriously huge.

Near the end of the day on Saturday this booth was giving away prizes for something. Like I said, I don't speak German.

Wheee....

Also in the kids room (most of the serious gamers stay out of this room and that's exactly why I like it, the crowds are much more tame and besides they have cool stuff like this) was this giant springy contraption.
My shutter speed was about 1/4 second or so because of the lack of light so the 4 people in the contraption are blurry but you get an idea of how fast they were going and besides I think it looks cool. |

Also in the kids room I watched this mother and her son play an oversized version of Bamboleo. It's not too hard to figure out what to do and the boy was having a great time everytime the thing fell over.

In the kids room they had a giant foosball table, where each kid was velcrowed into place.
I was pretty cool and I just wishing they let adults play. I just took pictures instead. |

Akaba

As I was sent to Germany and not to muck about town I headed back to the fair after my 2 hours about town on Saturday afternoon. At the Haba booth (they make great kids games) I spotted this larger than life version of Akaba.
A player uses an air pump to blow his or her piece across the table into the orange walled off areas. These kids were having lots of fun. |

This is the church of Saint Gertrude located near my subway stop. Not particularly old as far as European churches go (I'm sure it's much older than most American churches) I still walked around it and took a few pictures.
