Phlox?

This looks like phlox to me. Growing near the tree from the previous picture, this plant was all along my drive today.

On top of Dutchman's Peak, I want to say this wildflower is Indian Paintbrush, but I think I'm wrong on that one. Anyway, I liked it.

Wild Iris
Photo
4 yrs 5 mos ago
Very near the plant with the white ball flower, were a few wild iris. I was very excited to see this and took several photos. This is the best.
The iris barely rises above the ground and the leaves are only 6 inches tall at best. |

White ball flower
Photo

I have no idea what these are, but at oine point along the road they were all over. The leaves are pretty tall, heavy and sort of grassy. This flower spike shoots out of the middle of the plant and then blooms into this white ball. The plant smells, and while it's not repulsive, it's certainly not "nice."

Lupins
Photo

These are the smallest lupines I've ever seen. I pulled into a wide spot in the road about halfway to Dutchman's Peak and spotted a whole bunch of them growing. They are barely 2 inches tall.
You can see my car in the background. |

Mountain Penstemon?
Photo

To me this looks like some sort of mountain penstemon. I don't know if that's what it really is, but it was growing all over the top of Mt. Ashland.

Armeria?

I found this growing near the summit. The leaves and clumping nature remind me of armeria but I have no idea if that's what it is or not.
